Collection: Ontario Wool

Naturally dyed Ontario wool

We have two yarns in this category, both coming from Ontario sheep!

The dyes are all derived from nature, and come from plants or insects.  Where possible, we source local Ontario materials.  When these are not available, we look to Canadian distributors.

Products made from this yarn should be hand washed in cool water with wool wash and laid flat to dry.

Ontario Single Fingering Weight Wool

This is a gorgeous and springy single of fingering weight wool.  Because it is not a plied yarn, it has extra energy!   This would be great for hats, mitts, sweaters, etc. This wool comes from a local farm and is spun in Canada.  There are 430 yards in 110 grams.  It is not superwash wool.

Ontario Dorset Wool - worsted weight

This is a heavy worsted weight wool that comes from local Ontario Dorset sheep and is dyed with natural dyes.  It has 210 yards/ 192 metres in a 115 gram hank.  It is good for hats, mitts, and outer sweaters.  This is not as soft as our organic merino.  It is fluffy and warm.

The yarn is milled in Canada and dyed in Ontario.
