Collection: Fingering/Sock weight yarn

Naturally Dyed Fingering or Sock Weight Yarn

"Fingering" and "Sock" are often used interchangeably for the weight of this light yarn, which is classified by the Craft Yarn Council as "Super Fine", labeled as #1.

In choosing which yarn to use, think about the use that it will have and how well the yarn is suited to that use.

Organic Sock Yarn

Our organic sock yarn is sturdy, yet soft enough for next-to-skin wear.  It has 20% nylon to help with durability, and has 80% superwash merino wool, that has been eco-processed.  Its use is not limited to socks.  It could also be used for many projects including sweaters, hats, mitts, scarves, and shawls.

Organic Merino Fingering Weight Wool

This is made of 100% organic merino wool.  This is not a superwash yarn.  It has two plies.  It is delicate and airy.  It makes lovely shawls, accessories and sweaters.  I would not use it for socks as it is not sturdy enough.  However, it holds up well for other uses.

Merino Cashmere Silk Fingering Weight Yarn

This gorgeous yarn is made of 75% Organic Superwash Merino wool, 15% cashmere (so soft!) and 10% silk.  It is luxurious, soft, and has a beautiful sheen because of the silk.

Ontario Single Fingering Weight Wool

This is a gorgeous and springy single of fingering weight wool.  Because it is not a plied yarn, it has extra energy!   This would be great for hats, mitts, sweaters, etc. This wool comes from a local farm and is spun in Canada.  There are 430 yards in 110 grams.  It is not superwash wool.

Silk Linen Fingering Weight Yarn

This is a luscious non-wool fingering weight yarn.  It is crisp and takes colours with beautiful depth.   Each 115 gram skein has 490 yards.  It is made of 65% silk and 35% linen.

Recycled Wool Tencel Fingering Weight Yarn

This versatile fingering weight yarn is made with 50% recycled wool, which has been reclaimed from the manufactural process and 50% Tencel, an eco-friendly fibre made from wood pulp and post-consumer fibre waste.

The resulting yarn has lots of body and a soft shine to it and is lovely to the touch.  It  has 383 yards and 349 metres to a 100 gram skein.
